According to The Building Act 2004 and The Exemptions Guidance document released by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), any structure over 10m2 requires building consent. All of our structures are engineer-certified and have been granted consent by NZ councils for many consecutive years. We can supply all engineers’ plans, calculations and PS1, and guide you through the process should you wish to get a building consent.
Smart Shelters designs structures with strong fabric to meet the wind conditions of your site, adhering to council wind map standards and withstanding New Zealand’s extreme weather conditions. These ratings vary, and we have supplied structures with wind ratings of more than 290km/h.
