Road Metals does work all over the South Island. We have been up to the North Island on several occasions, so we operate over all of New Zealand but we basically concentrate on the South Island.
Most of our resources used to come from the river. We’re now getting the majority of our resources from land-based quarries. Hence, the container shelters do a great job for us, we can store the loaders and whatever else we need to in there.
One time we had a burglary at the Ymax site where we have a Smart Shelter. Vandals got in and grabbed one of our loaders. There were concrete blocks beside the container, but rather than pushing the blocks away, they pushed the container away from the concrete blocks. The Smart Shelter was attached to the container at the time.
You think it would have absolutely wrecked the Smart Shelter. It did bend some of the structure, which we were able to bend back again. Because of that, we were able to function again within a couple of hours.
Although we were devastated about the damage that had been done, it was a relatively simple thing to fix the Smart Shelter.
