ASK US A QUESTION ABOUT OUR MILITARY SHELTERS
You can trust SmartShelters to design and construct a military shelter to suit your needs, and do so efficiently and cost-effectively.
What do the military use for temporary shelters?
The most common purchase for the defence force are SmartShelters’ container or pole mounted shelters. These can be utilised in a number of ways; in offshore deployment for disaster relief, for use on temporary bases, or as larger semi-permanent or permanent facilities at military bases as a lower-cost and relocatable alternative to conventional buildings
A common choice for the most temporary and transient military situations are our habitat shelters, which can be erected and deconstructed in minimal time, and which have been designed for quick and easy transport.
What are the wind ratings?
At SmartShelters we can design and engineer your military shelter to suit whatever wind conditions you are likely to encounter. Thanks to the use of high grade galvanised steel and super-strength PE-coated fabric, we are able to supply structures with wind ratings specifically designed to suit your site conditions. Get in touch to find out what you might require for your situation.
Are they easily deployable?
All SmartShelters military shelters are designed with the user in mind. Our temporary and portable shelters are simple yet strong structures that are made to be erected in quick time and with the smallest amount of equipment possible.
Can they be relocated?
Our temporary and portable military shelters have been designed with easy relocation in mind, and can be quickly dismantled if the need for relocation arises.
But all SmartShelters military shelters are able to be relocated – even those intended as more permanent structures! Thanks to the unique design of SmartShelters military shelters, the roof of larger, more permanent structures can be quickly removed and deconstructed before being erected elsewhere. Depending on your choice of foundation, this part of the structure may be somewhat difficult to relocate.
What foundations are required?
At SmartShelters we like to keep things as easy as possible. For ground-mounted shelters, all you need to do is ensure that your site is level and compacted.
For container-mounted shelters, you’ll first need to place the containers on level and compacted ground. To hold the containers in place, you can choose to use either ballast in the containers or concrete footings, or a combination of the two methods – whichever works best for you.
For pole-mounted shelters, the site requirements are also very straightforward. A clear, level site is usually all that we need, along with information about ground conditions. Our sales consultants are always happy to talk through your specific situation, so don’t hesitate to call us if you would like to discuss things in more detail.
